I started playing guitar at age 12.

My formative years were spent learning rock guitar. My main influences are alternative bands like U2, The Smiths and REM as well as Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Hendrix. I started teaching at age 16.

Studying Jazz and focusing on music theory, sight reading and improvisation I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1994.
